To be considered for New Chamber Ballet you must be an advanced professional female-identifying ballet dancer with excellent pointework, who is 5’7” or taller and who demonstrates strong artistry and a desire to collaborate and experiment with new work in contemporary ballet, and is comfortable in various classical and contemporary styles including contemporary partnering. You also must be a US permanent resident or citizen.

Since New Chamber Ballet is based on the long-term collaboration of its artists, vacancies are unpredictable: sometimes there are none for several years, sometimes several in one year. As a result, New Chamber Ballet does not have annual auditions.

If you have done your research on the company’s repertory and strongly feel you would like make New Chamber Ballet your artistic home, the best way to audition is by participating in one of the free audition workshops that we hold whenever we’re looking for dancers. This will give you a chance to get to know the repertory, the other dancers, and our way of working; and it will give us the chance to get to know you, and your way of working. These workshops are announced here, as well as on our social media channels.

2024 UPDATE: There are currently no openings, and therefore no audition workshops are scheduled for this year. However, there will be a regular repertory workshop (not an audition!) on June 13-15, 2024, for dancers who are interested in experiencing New Chamber Ballet’s repertory and work process.
