Allegetto, Innocente

Can music be funny? Classical music is known for its depiction of sadness, drama, even joy; but not humor. One of the exceptions is the composer Joseph Haydn, whose sudden stops and starts and extreme contrasts of mood have made more than one listener chuckle. By the same token, Allegretto, Innocente, a dramatic trio created to commemorate the 201st anniversary of Haydn's death, is entirely serious. Or is it?
