NEW CHAMBER BALLET TO PRESENT THREE WORLD PREMIERES, GUEST ARTISTS AND LIVE MUSIC

10/24/2005 - New York, New York –  The New Chamber Ballet will present an evening of new ballets with live music on Saturday, November 19th, 8pm at City Center’s Studio 4, 130 W 56TH St between 6th and 7th Ave. The program will include new ballets by Artistic Director Miro Magloire and guest choreographers Deborah Lohse and Kate Thomas, as well as a guest appearance by former NYCB dancer Deborah Wingert. Admission is $15 ($10 for students with ID). Tickets can be purchased online at www.smarttix.com or by phone at (212) 868-4444.

World Premiere – A highlight of the performance will be the world premiere of Miro Magloire’s new ballet set to music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The ballet is an homage to Mozart for the celebration of his 250th birthday in 2006. Set to the Violin Sonata K306, it will pay tribute to Mozart’s genius with three intricate solo parts danced by Elizabeth Brown, Christin Hanna and Denise Small. Another highlight will be the guest appearance of former New York City Ballet dancer Deborah Wingert in the world premiere of a solo choreographed for her by Magloire. The program will be completed by new works by Deborah Lohse and Kate Thomas and a repeat performance of Magloire’s Dawn, set to music by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Live Music – This performance of the New Chamber Ballet will be accompanied by live music. The musicians are violinist Erik Carlson and pianist Melody Fader. Mr. Carlson is a recent Juilliard graduate who has extensively performed in New York and beyond, and Ms. Fader, also a recent Juilliard graduate, has a busy performing career that has brought her among others to the Spoleto Festival in Italy. Both are resident artists of the New Chamber Ballet.

This performance is made possible in part through the sponsorship of The Field.
