
Denise Small trained in her native Philadelphia with Scott Jovovich and on scholarship at the Rock School of Pennsylvania Ballet. She has danced with Kansas City Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet, including an appearance at the Kennedy Center Balanchine Festival, and has also appeared as a guest with the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet and the Phrenic New Ballet of Philadelphia, and with Morphoses/The Wheeldon Company in its inaugural City Center Season. Currently, Denise lives in New York where she trains with Willy Burmann and Peff Modelski and dances with the Metropolitain Opera Ballet. She is a founding member of New Chamber Ballet, where her roles include parts in Night, Valses, Preludes, Fall, Life, Round, Silk, Terzetto, Night is Falling, Mostly Soft, Adue, Viduity, Reflections and Silent Shadows. She dedicates her performances to the memory of Anna Maria Jones.
